Lee R. Kuhnert

	Lee R. Kuhnert, age 85, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Saturday evening, January 11, 2003 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Lee was born March 13, 1917 in Pinckneyville, the son of August and Elizabeth (Loos) Kuhnert.  He was united in marriage to Goldic Magerkurth in 1939 in Perryville, Mo. and she preceded him in death on December 4, 1984.  Lee was a retired Coal Miner, having worked in the Spartan Mines with  Zeigler Coal Company in Coulterville.  He was a member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church of Pinckneyville, a member of the UMWA Local #9905 and enjoyed 'hogging' for catfish and hunting.
	Lee is survived by three sons, Roger and wife Mary Kuhnert of Pinckneyville, Alen and wife Dorothy Kuhnert of Sebring, Florida, and Virgil Kuhnert of Davenport, Iowa; one daughter, Gloria Conroy of Pinckneyville; five grandchildren, Kelli Yackle of Chicago, Krista Straight and husband Jeff of Belleville, Brett Kuhnert of North Africa, Aaron Kuhnert and wife Courtney of Carbondale and Johanna Kuhnert of Calona; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Augusta Lacy of Pinckneyville; one brother, Leslie Kuhnert and wife Iola of Pinckneyville; two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Hilda Kuhnert and numerous other relatives.  Lee was preceded in death by his parents; wife; six brothers, Harry, Louis, Willard, Dale, Leonard and John; three sisters, Lillie, Vera and Bonnie; Dean Davis and a grandson, Kraig Kuhnert.
	Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, January 14 at the Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville at 10 a.m. with Reverend Randy Plunkett officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. then at the church on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of services.
	Memorials may be made to Mueller Hill Cemetery or the Pinckneyville Health Care Activity Fund.
